What’s New: Simcenter Femap 2506
In this article, we will explain the several changes and enhancements that have been made.
In this article, we will explain the several changes and enhancements that have been made.
ZONA was a private company, founded in 1985, with a focus on aeroelasticity. Aeroelasticity is a specialized field in aerospace engineering that focuses on the interactions between elastic structures and aerodynamic forces. Since 2024 ZONA has been part of the Siemens portfolio.
The primary product of ZONA was ZAERO. This powerful package makes it possible to model Flutter, Parametric Flutter for Aircraft with Stores, Non-Linear Flutter, Aeroservoelasticity, Transient Gust Loads, Transient Maneuver Loads, Transient Ejection Loads, and Trim Loads.
When using the current process with Simcenter Nastran, numerous input/output text files must be created in order to run a ZONA aeroelastic analysis. The new ZONA ZAERO workflow allows users to create and overlay the aeroelastic model directly on top of the structural model. ZEARO results are automatically recovered for post-processing. The new version of Simcenter Femap 2506 introduces new ZONA ZAERO entities to support the updated ZONA process. Visit the Simcenter Femap support center for more details.
With Femap v2506 it is possible to get post-processing functional results directly from the solver with the new enhancement output tables.
In previous versions, the user had to translate results to function entities to get functional post-processing results. Femap v2506 can get these results directly from the solver. Output tables make it easier and more efficient to work with functional results. Although all functional results data is captured in the functions, the new Output Tables improve the organization and presentation of the functional results.
This new enhancement can transfer Section Attribute when Imprinting Curves. Transferring of attributes retains the mesh attributes of the curve after projecting them onto the surface. This can be applied when the user creates a curve from the Beam Centerline command. It is then possible to select solids that are beam shaped, creating a curve at the center line while automatically associating the section properties to its attributes. This enhancement can save the user a lot of time by re-selecting all the projected curves and correct properties.
The new Teamcenter integration enhancement allows the user to use the Create New Item command in Teamcenter. Femap v2506 will be capable of creating a CAE 3D Analysis item types directly and save them to the Teamcenter environment.
This Teamcenter integration enhancement is to the Create New Item command in Teamcenter. Starting with Femap version 2506, Femap will be capable of creating CAE 3D Analysis item types directly and save them to the Teamcenter environment.
During the creation of the CAE 3D Analysis Item, you have an option to add a relationship to the source CAD Item Revision using CAE Target relationships. This provides traceability for your data located in Teamcenter.
The following entities have been added into Unified Graphics Architecture:
Simcenter Chat is the Microsoft Copilot implemented in Femap. The new implementation provides the user with a new interface to find answers and knowledge base articles from the Siemens product documentation.
Femap v2506 now has support for analysis job monitoring for the Autodesk Nastran solver users.
