Geometry abstraction is an important step in preparing the CAD model for meshing. It can be used to guarantee consistent and high-quality elements.
And now in 2026, this process has become even simpler. The improved Idealize Geometry command now has a clearer workflow that also allows the idealization across multiple bodies at once.
The synchronous Delete Face command has been a staple in cleaning up geometry by removing unwanted features while the remaining geometry automatically adjusts to incorporate the changes. The command has now been improved further by allowing partial deletes, as well as changing multiple bodies at once.

Checking your contact definitions inside your simulation has become even easier with a new addition to the contact manager. You can now visualize the source and target faces through a color plot.
The settings for result averaging have been clarified to remove some ambiguity, especially at discontinuities. And to make extra clear what nodes/elements will have their results averaged, it is now possible to preview the averaging.

That is not all. 2606 als add several improvements to meshing, to name a few;
Of course, this is only a selection of features from the latest update. Follow this link to the Siemens article about all these exciting new features that may also apply to your Simcenter 3D workflow.
