Welcome our new workstudent!

Meet our Frame Engineer in the Femto team, bringing expertise in engineering and design

Name: Lizelotte d’Engelbronner
First day at Femto: 01-09-2023
Title: Work Student

Meet Lizelotte, our new Frame Engineer who joined us in September as a work-student. She’s adding a creative touch to our Femto team. If you would like to learn more about her, we warmly invite you to read the full interview.

Could you talk about your role as a Frame Engineer at Project March and how it contributes to your mechanical engineering skills?

As a Frame Engineer at Project MARCH, I applied my theoretical knowledge in practice, navigating through the entire product development process of an exoskeleton. This hands-on experience not only strengthened my technical skills but also allowed me to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, identify and solve problems, and comprehend the production process from the inside. Integrating my theoretical background with practical applications has enriched my professional development, providing valuable insights into both technical and organizational aspects.

How do you think your experience at Project March will be valuable in collaborating with diverse student teams and projects at Femto?

Having been involved in the Project MARCH, I’ve gained insights into the workings of a student team. Additionally, my experience with Femto has equipped me with valuable knowledge. I believe I can effectively support student teams in their processes and provide assistance based on my accumulated expertise.

What specific areas within mechanical engineering and project management interest you, and how do you envision incorporating them into your work at Femto?

In projects, I find the design phase the most intriguing as it not only relies on technical knowledge but also places a significant emphasis on creativity. The subsequent phase, where the design undergoes simulation through software, provides insights into not just the feasibility but also the quality of the design. In my opinion, this phase is a crucial component of the design stage in a project. Simulating a design is crucial for optimization and reducing the risk of failure. Without it, the design may not reach its full potential, but simulation allows for more robust improvements and innovations.

During my time as a working student at Femto, I aspire to deepen my knowledge of simulation software. This opportunity is crucial for refining my skills and delivering even more sophisticated designs. I am eager to leverage this experience for personal growth and contribute to the success of projects at Femto.

Having already experienced our workplace during your previous visits, what aspects of our company culture and projects stood out to you? How do you anticipate contributing to these as a regular team member?

As a Frame Engineer at Project March, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the work environment within Femto. What particularly appeals to me is the combination of expertise and the space provided for personal development. The atmosphere at Femto not only feels professional but also provides an environment where I can refine my skills and am encouraged to foster personal growth.
